Synthetic labels – where and why are they used?

We meet labels literally everywhere, almost every day. They contain information about the brand product, its best before date and the conditions under which it can be used. It is an excellent source information. Interestingly, there can be thousands of ways to place them on specific items!

Synthetic labels are an inseparable element of modern trade. They enable accurate marking of given items, which in the long run results in their easy and quick identification. In turn, thanks to this, price control and management of the entire range becomes easier.

Synthetic labels – what are their characteristic features?

There are many different types of labels on the market. Considering their quality, type of material used, top layer or even adhesive, the number of combinations here is several thousand!

Synthetic labels are most resistant to harmful factors – low and high temperature, abrasion, fading, dust, ultraviolet radiation, water and chemicals. They can be used even at a temperature of -200 degrees C or – the other extreme – up to 800 degrees C. Thanks to this, labels can have a lot of different applications.

Where are synthetic labels used?

The film from which these labels are created can be made of various materials – the most commonly used are polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene and self-adhesive VOID films. They are durable, so they can be used both in industry generally, textile industry or in advertising materials. Places where they are usually used are markings for cosmetics, alcohol, storage shelves, pharmaceutical products and food products.

Synthetic labels work great in production and in industry – both light and heavy. Depending on the destination, choice of the type of material or its surface layer is valid. For the most difficult applications, where a label life cycle of over 10 years is required, vinyl labels are used, which, although they do not show the highest resistance to high temperatures, do not degrade with time. When marking products working at temperatures of 300, 500 or even 800 degrees Celsius, the best applications are labels made of acrylic or ceramic synthetic. These are very specialized materials, tested in the most difficult conditions!

Synthetic labels – why use them?

Precise and expressive marking of products with synthetic labels allows their efficient and quick identification. They work great even on the most demanding surfaces – such as glass or packaging, which are exposed to external factors. They easily adhere to uneven or rough surfaces.

Importantly, such markings maintain long-term durability. Depending on the selected material, their life cycle will be from six months to over 10 years. This includes both the labels and the printout found on them. For this reason, synthetic labels can be used outdoors and indoors. They are resistant to all kinds of dirt or environmental influences (as well as related deformations of materials).
