Food labels
Food products represent a significant part of trade while being very unique products. Due to the nature of food, its producers and sellers are obliged to comply with different standards. For example, different types of food have to be stored properly in different ways. Attention is paid, for example, to humidity, temperature or materials that come into contact with the food. At the same time, in the retail trade, food products must be visually appealing enough to attract the attention of the potential buyer.
What must food labels be like?
The numerous requirements to be met in the food trade apply to labelling. for example, if a product is stored at a sufficiently low temperature or even below zero, the adhesive of the label must retain its properties under these conditions. We also use specialised adhesives for food contact, which are certified as food-neutral. Such labels can be applied directly to the product. They are useful for labelling meat or bread.

In terms of marketing aspects, food labels have to reflect the great variety of packaging forms. They vary in size, shape and materials used. A simple cardboard box will need a different label than a flexible foil package for freezer storage. If one were to categorise labels by application, those for food would probably be the most diverse.
