Thermal labels
These are simple to apply and do not use ribbons. Thermal labels provide information about the properties, composition or shelf life of the product.
While such self-adhesive solutions are used in many industries, they are most often associated with the food industry. They attract attention with their design, and their durability is matched to the conditions in which they are used.

Thermal labels: where are they used?
Thermal labels are used for labelling rapid-rotation goods. They are particularly suitable for use in the food industry, especially on goods with a short shelf life (such as bread, dairy or meat).
Thermal labels on rolls are also used for fast-moving goods, e.g. in the food industry, as labels for freezers, and most commonly as courier and logistics labels. No ribbons are used for printing thermal labels. We produce labels from BPA-free raw materials, certified by FSC.
A different type of label is used for products stored for several weeks than in the case of products stored for several months (often in a cool and humid environment). IBCS Poland’s specialists discuss all the criteria with clients in each case and help to select the most optimal solution. In this way, the client may decide, for example, to use a label with an adhesive for direct contact with food. Such labels can be applied directly to meat or other food products.
Labels for deep-freezers are an example of the use of thermal labels. These labels are applied on products that are subjected to deep-freezing (in this case paper or film labels with deep-freezing adhesive are used).
It should be emphasised that thermal labels are used in other industries as well, including as shipping labels (in the courier and logistics industry, they are used for marking shipments and printing waybills).

Basic specification for thermal labels
Thermal labels make it possible to convey a lot of information in a small area. They are self-adhesive pieces of paper that are affixed directly to the packaging of a product. They are a low-cost solution, characterised by easy application. The company does not need to stock any additional consumables.
Importantly, IBCS Poland’s thermal labels are manufactured from bisphenol A (BPA) free raw materials. This chemical compound is used in the production of plastics and, according to some opinions, can be harmful to humans. The quality of our labels is confirmed by the FSC certificate.
The shelf life of thermal labels is approximately six months. These labels are not used where they may be affected by extreme weather conditions (such as very low and very high temperatures). They should not come into contact with water, as this can compromise their durability.
Thermal labels: types
Depending on the application, there are two types of thermal labels to choose from. The first is the ECO type, which is an ordinary thermal paper. It does not provide protection against grease and moisture and blackens when exposed to them. It is used for short-term application.
TOP is a different type of thermal label, based on coated thermal paper. It has a protective layer which prevents the effect of grease o moisture on the label. This solution is recommended for cold environments, as the printing on such a label is simply more durable.
